White Soldiers Civil War-AGE

I was looking at a Webinar on Ancestry and it was suggested in order to figure out who could have possibly been your ancestors last slave holder look 4-5 pages on the 1870 census before your ancestors family group and the same after. It also said to chart the names of the white residents in 1870 and then look for the names in 1860. This webinar also said to look at the age of the 'white' soldier. My question..for WW1 and 2 there was a general age of who to enlist and who not.
1. Was there a age where the WHITE soldiers were enlisted? Such as age 16.
I know very little about military ages, but it seems as if the white soldiers had some kind of expectations of service that was totally different to the blacks who went as servants of a soldier are were later admitted in.
2. The white soldiers Burial Benefits. Now I know there is a grave locater website. What information could I glean to give me information as to what farm they lived on or if there is information on paperwork as to if they were qualified for a headstone?
3. The last- is there a list of names of names of Slave Dealers on any sites.

I really don't know if I am explaining this very well, so work with me :\ .
