Pvt Levi Marlowe 29th USCT
During the war, Marlowe served with Comapn B, 29th U.S. Colored Troops and was wounded in the chest at the Battle of the Crater in 1864 (bullet went through him). He later worked at Monmouth College, Illinois ringing the bell, building the fires, cleaning the floor, and taking care of the turkeys before Thanksgiving. The date of his death is not given, but was the result of his war wound.
