Â Â The movie "Walking Tall" was about Buford Pusser's attempts to clean up illegal operations on the Tennessee-Mississippi state line. Â His only black deputy was Dave Lipford, a descendant of David Lipford who was born September 1839 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, and moved to McNairy County, Tennessee, with the family of Amos Lipford II in the 1840s. Â The Buford Pusser Home and Museum is in Adamsville, Tennessee.

18. Navy Petty Officer First Class Clarence Lipford is a member of the Presidential Food Service Unit in the White House, a special military unit that works beside White House chefs serving meals. Â Clarence graduated from Dan River High School in Danville, Virginia. Â He was selected for this honor because of his superior performance reports and interviews by selection teams.
