Here is a link to a 1908 enlistment record for a 3 year term, just months after Lionel Hampton was born. This record list that Charles Hampton was born in Bowling Green, Warren, KY. Does this provide any info as to the unit he served in ? I can't make out the Remarks Column. NOTE: You'd probably need access to ancestry.com to access this record.
