The Harlem Hellfighters Collection
"This collection consists of service records of soldiers who fought in the 15th New York National Guard regiment (later 369th Infantry, U.S. Army), commonly known as the “Harlem Hellfighters.” The “Harlem Hellfighters” was the first African-American regiment to participate in World War I, being mustered into federal service in July 1917, and fought in such noteworthy campaigns as the Second Battle of the Marne and the Meuse-Argonne Offensive."
