Searching for letters, journals, and other personal documents referencing the life and military service of John E. Elliott of New Bern, North Carolina. He served as a corporal in Company D of the Fifth Massachusetts Cavalry. He survived the war, and lived in New York in 1900. Any and all help appreciated.
