In Jan 2010, New chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will be established in Natchitoches Parish, La and will be called Natchitoches Chapter, SAR. To celebrate the start of this new chapter's beginning, a Patriot Grave Marker on the grave of Jean Pierre Emmanual Prudhomme in American Cemetery will be placed. About four other individuals so identified as American Revolutionary War Patriots will be honored also. They are Jean Baptiste Ailhaud, Remy Lambre, Claude Thomas Pierre Metoyer, and Antoine Prudhomme. Any descendants of either of these men who can trace and properly document their ancestral lineage to either of them could be eligible to be inducted into the National Society, Sons (Men) or Daughters (women) of the American Revolution. Yes there is an application process, however, I know with the research many of you have done or currently doing to prove your ancestral lineage to one of the more well known Louisiana Progenitor of The Metoyer family- Claude Thomas Pierre Metoyer, this should not be a problem for you. Here is a link to help you get started with connecting your family tree to him. http://www.frenchcreoles.com/Cane%20River/metoyer%20family%20tree/metoyer%20family%20tree.htm
I ask as many of you who live in Natchitoches Parish, La or know of family and friends there to please plan to be in attendance. This is truly something to witness and become a part of. Here is the link to the Louisiana Society Sons of the American Revolution
Louisiana Society, Daughters of the American Revolution.
I look forward to seeing this chapter grow once each of you take that initial step to honor your SAR ancestor by joining and becoming a member. Become a part of history once again in Natchitoches Parish, La. Michael Messages In This Thread
