Thanks for the heads up on the TV show. On black Confederates, there is a book by the same name that includes several muster records of enlisted men indicated as "negro" or "colored," and documentation of men who were personal servants to Confederate officers. There is one wartime photograph of a black Confederate soldier, but the identity is only partial.

I've yet to find a wartime, black Confederate in uniform with a airtight identification.
