Do you watch the Military History Channel? A week ago, I watched a presentation on the battles that led up to Lee's surrender. The 114th was
incuded in the units. You may be able to make contact with some of the Civil War Historians that contribute to the Military History Channel programs.

I also watched a presentation on Camp Douglas which was in Chicago, Illinois not far from by house where I was born and grew up. Camp Douglas housed many Confederate prisoners. Some of them were black.

There were several prisoners released in the early years of Camp Douglas. Four Black prisoners were released at the same time. Two went back south and two stayed in Chicago. Do you have any information on these Black Confederate soldiers?
