Capt. Louis Antoine Snaer, Civil War
Searching for letters, journals, and other personal documents referencing the life and military service of Capt. Louis Antoine Snaer (1842-1917) of New Orleans, Louisiana. Snaer originally served in the First Louisiana Native Guard Infantry. The regiment later became the First Infantry, Corps De Afrique After the dissolution of the Corps in 1864, it became the Seventy-third U.S. Colored Infantry. In September 1865 it was consolidated with the Ninety-sixth U.S. Colored Infantry. Any help appreciated.
