Searching for letters, journals, and other personal documents referencing the life and military service of Owens Dawson, who served as quartermaster sergeant in the Twenty-fifth U.S. Colored Infantry during the Civil War. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, about 1830, he worked as a waiter before his enlistment. Dawson survived the war and later became a minister of the gospel. In 1880, he lived with his wife Maggie and their three daughters in Campbell County, Virginia. Dawson died in 1904. Any and all help appreciated.
