Hi All,

I came across a webpage by Linda Durr Rudd on an ancestor of hers that was a body servant during the Civil War. She had a lot of information about his service as a body servant but I'm guessing due in large part because the family was receiving a Confederate War Pension. I have at least 2 individuals who I believe were body servants but neither of them were receiving a Confederate Pension. I think I know the individuals that they were servants for but I'm confused because the individuals were privates and not officers. Where coud I look to find evidence of their service. The evidence that I have so far is not strong. Both of these individuals lived in central Alabama.
