I'm really intrigued by my recent discovery of Henrietta Bradberry's contribution to WWII Submarine torpedo discharger invention! I've been trying to learn more about how an African-American woman came to invent this machinery. I'm a teacher and we just finished learning about WWII and how women contributed towards the war effort by working in the war industry.
So, as a follow-up to this unit, I thought I'd investigate Henrietta Bradberry and learn a little more about her and how she became involved in this important invention that probably was a HUGE contribution to the war effort and our subsequent victory in it!!
Please send me any leads on books, websites, videos/movies/documentaries that would help me in my search for biography info on Henrietta Bradberry. Thanks for your efforts to enlighten us all about the contributions of African Americans to the benefit of us all.
Sincerely,
Mary Martin
