Can you tell me how long you have to wait to obtain these for a deceased vet and if there is no relative who will cooperated in using their name to order them, what can be done. My Haley Caldwell is no where on the rolls, but it is strongly believed he was in the military. I know our people were not treated with dignity in the military about that time, but I am curious to find out what happened to him to cause him to be in a VA hospital in NY. He did not show up on the SSI rolls and I can't figure out where his last home of record could have been after many years of discharge. No grave site information has been found either. He just sort of disappeared.
