Thanks for the information you posted. I believe we, you and ,I are posting about two distinct and different lines or sets of Goins families. The Walker GOINS I speak about is the son of Michael and Verlinda GOINS who were Virginians who moved to Ohio circa 1835 ( according to their marriage record) where Walker was born. According to his 1910 obituary he was born circa 1838 on near Stillwater, Ohio and was married to Miss Mary Jackson. Futhermore Walker GOINS is buried in the Southern Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio. On 29 September, 2007 I found and photographed his military headstone in the northwestern part of the cemetery.

The surname GOINS seems like it would be easy to research but just the opposite is true; especially in Virginia.

I hope this clears up any misunderstanding. I will gladly answer any question that I am able to answer.
