Re: To Lloyd and Joe (371st Infantry Regiment, WW1

Hello Gahni-Schareef,

Mr.Ball is right. It did take us over 15 yrs to complete a 372nd roster. There were many in this unit from other lands In Co.M(formerly 1st Sep.Co. Conn. NG) there were a many Haitian and Trinidad natives in that company. The Massachusetts Company (L) seems to have had the most Puerto Ricans listed. You may also want to try to find out if New York put out a book listed its World War One Vets. Many States did and they list all who served in WW1,and sometimes even include the service numbers,as well as DOB,DOD,unit, and home address.

The title may be something like New York in the World War .I am at NARA were the Military Personnel Records are kept on a regular basis.
as Mr. Ball has stated a service number is needed. We have a many name that we could not even get any info on without a service number, they cannot even tell you wether they have the record or not unless you have it.It can be very frustrating.Good luck with your search.Ball and I will be glad to help with any further questions.
