There was a Silas Dickerson who served in the 119th U. S. Colored Infantry Regiment, organized at Camp Nelson, Kentucky. Alternate name: Sallis Dickerson.

There was a Side Dickerson who served in the 10th Regiment, U. S. Colored Heavy Artillery, organized at New Orleans as the 1st REGIMENT HEAVY ARTILLERY (AFRICAN DESCENT) - LOUISIANA VOLUNTEERS, and redesignated the 1st Corps de Afrique Heavy Artillery.

Two Charles Dickersons served in units organized in Pennsylvania - the 41st Regiment, U. S. Colored Infantry and the 45th Regiment, U. S. Colored Infantry.
