There is a well known series of Photograghs of an ex-slave showing himhas a slave; his bareback with slave scars; then as a USCT soldier.
This version shows his scarred back-gives his name as "Peter" and also
gives the name of the overseer who whipped him as ARTAYOU CARRIER.
Clues as to what plantaion he was enslaved on?
Prewhaps "Gordon" Was masters name?
