Thanks for the link to the news article about black soldiers in the ETO. I found several clippings from French newspapers and the Stars and Stripes covering that period in my father's archives. They include the arrests of both white and black soldiers.

Some of the arrests seemed questionable. In spite of this story of injustice and others, African American soldiers continued to serve their country honorably. And why not such loyal service? The US was/is their homeland.
