Thanks so much for updating Afrigeneas on Bennie McRae's Second international television project this year on Black Military History. WOW!

Many of us have known that historians and scholars throughout the globe contact Bennie because of his sterling research on the African American military experience. We are all very proud that Australian Television and now the UK will educate their audiences about African American soldiers.

Probably the most important message to Australian and UK audiences is that African American soldiers were patriots, and were ready to defend their country at any cost. For those skeptics who question and criticize their service...they fail to remember that America has been the homeland of their ancestors for five centuries.

Granted, America didn't do right by them. But in 1861, their black forefathers joined the US Colored Troops and were a strategic force in winning the Civil War that ended slavery.

That story supported by Bennie's scholarship has yet to be told.
