Ilocated my NC ancestor on usgenweb.com. Go into state of NC. I was looking in Jones CO. and scrolled down to United States Colored Troops (USCT). I was able to locate him there along with the history of the regiment and roster of names. I sent his information to the archives in Washington and received a copy of his pension papers.
