Peace I'm homeschooling my ninth grader and we have used genealogy related lessons at several points in her education. In addition to the ideas mentioned by others, let me share a few: 4th or 5th grade- "Historical fiction" such as the "Addie" series in American Girls (all major bookstores). Or, you can go right to books like "Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry". 8th grade- She researched the Oral History process and completed an interview with her grandfather. 9th- We are going on a field trip to the NC Archives. Any body with ideas for how we can make the most of this trip, please respond. I am relatively new to the more formal aspects of genealogical research. We have 1. family sheets 2. a list of some estate boxes 3. a rough time line akhasa
