Re: . BLACK HISTORY WEBSITES
In Response To: . BLACK HISTORY WEBSITES (Theresa Thomas)
Thank you for the websites; I'm sure that I will become a frequent visitor. I also have researched a family named Finley. My great grandfather had a sister, Mary J. Maxwell born ca 1838, who grew up in Fayette County, Ohio. She was the daughter of Campbell and Henrietta Hill Maxwell and married a Samuel Finley. They later lived in Emerald, Paulding County, Ohio. According to my records, Samuel Finley deceased before 1910 and Mary moved to Michigan. The obituary of her brother, Campbell L. Maxwell in 1920 lists her as a survivor. I found the death certificate of Mary and Samuel's son, Thomas Frederick Finley (1866-1937). Martha Finley is the informant and they lived in Akron. Mary and Samuel were also parents of Martha M., Benjamin, William, and Charles. Does any of this ring a bell? Carol Wood Messages In This Thread
