GOSPEL SINGERS-St Louis Mo
I have some black and white photo's of a Gospel group called the Silver Kings. One of these people Henry Dodd was married to an aunt of mine. Both of them are now deceased and the daughter just gave me papers her mother left. I once remember a lady at one of the convention centers trying to sell or give away 8X10's of a pile of black pictures a relative of hers who was a photo teacher at 1 of the black (we only had 2 in the whole city for black people to attend) high Schools, Sumner High and I had no idea what to tell her. When we historians do research, I myself love to look into the faces of thes pictures and picture them all dressed up. We need a place to send these pictures and not KNOW they will be destroyed. Our churches don't have the space and nor do some of them keep up with the history of their members unless they are celebrating an ANNUAL event. Then it's for that time period only. So I am hoping someone can tell me where to snail mail this to. All of it would fit in an 8X10 envelope.
I also have pictures of a cousin who was the son of this deceased aunt. He is also dead. These pictures of him are of his German family, wife and 2 sons. I've written to the last known address in Germany, posted any and all information about him and the marriage dates..1963 and nothing. Nobody cares. His name is Vernon Melton Branch. He died here in a car crash and his family was..I guess in Germany..he was seperated so I just wanted to pass it on to a son. No luck and I am hoping they are not deceased. What would you do if you had pictures, papers and what I deem good stuff for somebody to use for identity theft. I don't want it to come to that.
