Re: Walden/Goins Families in North Carolina
In Response To: Re: Walden/Goins Families in North Carolina (Linda Threadgill)
Judith and Art, I truly haven't checked into this family before. They are part of my husband's Copeland, Weaver, Collins folks from NC. ..................... ..................................... Also, Art, I have an Allen/Thomas connection from Fayette Co., PA. There is also an Allen family that lives in Uniontown, PA. Not sure if there is a connection to you since my Thomases from Uniontown don't connect to your Thomases. BTW, I also have an Arthur Thomas in my family. Linda
Hello Linda, I sse we have another possible connection through the surname COPELAND. My grandfather's 2nd wife was...Leona Rowena COPELAND. They were married 1934 in Sidney, Shelby County, OH. "Miss" Rowena's family had VA origins and came to the IN/OH area ca 1855. "Miss" Rowena's parents and siblings were Elijah and Estella (Byrd) COPELAND w/siblings...Clint, Floy, Ralph, ROWENA, Frances, Margaret, Ellen & Lytle. Her grandparents who originated from VA were David and Mary Elizabeth McCoay (sp)COPELAND w/children were.....Lorenzo, ELIJAH, Richenda, Josephene, Elzona, David, Jr., Nicholas and Horatio. Uniontown, Fayette Co., PA ........ This is the 'supposed' birth location for my wife's 2nd great-grandfather, John Adams and her great-grandfather, Samuel Adams. These Adamses then 'relocate' to Barbour Co., VA/WV where her grandfather Isaac Adams is born 19 Dec 1861. The plot thickens, more to follow Art Thomas
