Re: Rebecca Randolph
In Response To: Re: Rebecca Randolph (Lollene)
I'm researching FPOC's in the Miami/Shelby/Champaign county areas of Ohio as I have ancestors in these locations as early as 1810. My intent is to look at the other families that helped develop the "black settlements" in and around this area, such as Rumley, Ohio in Shelby county, Rossville in Springcreek Twp. Miami county, Hanktown in Miami county and Gooseville on the outskirts of Urbana, Ohio in Champaign county. My interest here is Rebbeca Randolph. It has been stated that Doctor "D.C." Goings maried Rebecca Randolph.
My "trail" from the Shelby County records indicate: 1) Archibald Fox was married to Mary Ann Lett on 27 Dec 1838 in Shelby county by Amos Lambert MG., Shelby County Marriages Vol 1 & 2 page 214. 2) Archibald & Mary Ann had a child Rebecca Fox born 10 Nov 1840 in Shelby County, Ohio 3) Doctor C. Goings was married to Rebecca Fox 16 Jul 1860 in Shelby county by Julius Sharp JP. marriage vouched for by J.S. Collins, Shelby County Marriages Vol 4 page 154. note: the Collins connection is another story. Are Rebecca Fox and Rebecca Randolph the same person? Thanks in advance for any clarification, Art Thomas
