Paul,

This is the case and there is definitely no mention of a Dennis. I thought the case was Maria et al vs. Moore. I also thought there were 40 slaves freed in this case. I wonder why there was no mention of an Anthony Evans. I will check Moores will records and maybe - hopefully all slave names were listed if there were approximately 40 people freed.

In going over the tax list information you presented recently, I realized that Dennis was living in the southern region of Prince Edward county between 1815-1823 probably working on Haskins mill and sometime between 1823 to 1850 he moved to Hampden Sydney so maybe he even came from neighboring Lunenburg county.

This is going to be a hard one to solve.
