In May 1816 the request of numerous individuals who had been freed under the will of Ann Hughes recorded in 1809 in Amelia County Virginia were denied under the law of 1806. Starting in September 1815 many had registered with the clerk and more would over the next couple of months after their petition had been denied. I am trying to find out if these individuals relocated and where. I have looked at some of the Ohio registrations but have not found any specifically from this group. These individuals are not the same as those freed in the will of Mary Ann Hughes of 1794. Any help would be appreciated. Michael Nicholls
