On page 36 of the above-named document for Criminal Cases (most cases for 1757-1825) there is a case for John Lucas, aka John Goings (free black, case #1831-021.

What this means is unclear to me now, but since I know both John Lucas and the Goings family were in Virginia and Belmont County, Ohio, I thought it may be useful to make you aware of this alias. If this is known by any of you, I would appreciate a quick note to that effect. To date, I'm not researching the Goings family (smile). Thanks,
