Hi. Was wondering if the Tax and Property records from Albemarle CO. VA were available online. I am researching the Crawford family that was emancipated by Edward Coles in 1819. He had inherited them from his father John Coles, whose planation was in Albemarle county. If in your research any of you have come across anything on them I would greatly appreciate it.
I would like to know anything about them of course, but am specifically interested in what happened to them in Illinois after their emacipation as there is a possible family link. There was an exhibit several years ago at the Albemarle Historical Society but I have spoken to them and they do not seem to have access to the information any longer.
