Re: Goins/Going and Ailstock families
In Response To: Re: Goins/Going and Ailstock families ()
Art thanks for your reply. As you have posted, there are several GOINS families in Southeastern Ohio. I have seen many of these individuals and wondered if and how they are related to each other and to the families in Virginia. I have been wrecking my brain on trying to tie these families together. One of the problems with this endeavour resides in the fact that this was a very prolific family and then they seem to migrate south and or westward as if someone sprinkled them about. With this in mind, I've tried to focus on a single line with an occasional look at other GOINS lines with Ohio and Virginia ties. I wish I had the material similar to Mr. Heinegg's work for Ohio because I could theorize about the potential relationships of the names I have seen and how they connect to Virginia. I think the answers might reside in land and death records which I have limited access. I do remember an article someone gave me when I visited Ohio about a store owned by Goins brothers. I think I remember the brothers as Joel and Wesley or someone related to them owning the store. I will keep my eyes open for any possible links to the individuals you mention.
