I have also have the Goings surname in my family. The oldest ancestor that I have is Fleming Going born around 1829 who married Ann. Not sure where in the Tidewater area of VA he was born, but he is buried in Charles City Co., VA. His children were Ann, Mary, Joseph, Matilda, Catherine, James, Sarah, William, Robert and Lemuel. James married Susie Dixon. Sarah married Micajah Charity. Mary married Bowling (Boller) Green. Lemuel married Susie UNK.
