Re: FPOC in Alabama
![]() In Response To: Re: FPOC in Alabama ()
Thanks for this posting and the enlightening information. My family research reflects an FPOC William Wicker born at Mobile, AL ca 1832-34. William Wicker married into my FPOC Adams/Reno lines here in Ohio with his marriage to Rachel Amanda Reno on 23 Sep 1860 in Troy, Miami Co., OH. Wicker served with the 55th Mass USCT during the Civil War and his request for pension file is quite revealing. Depositions found in the file given by the sister's of his mother state that they all were FPOC and that William had been born at Mobile, AL. That upon the death of their father (William's grandfather) they were all sent to Ohio ca 1845. Perhaps to protect their status as FPOC (?). I've had a copy of the 1900 Ohio Census record for William & Rachel Wicker where Wicker states his birth location as AL and France for his father. I had not thought much about his father's birth location and the Wicker family status as FPOC in Alabama until reading this thread which sent me back to my files for further review Thanks Again,
