I found this a long time back with the 18th century descendants of Edward Harris of Isle of Wight/Southampton County VA. White and FPOC sibling groups on the VA and NC sides of the border have almost the same list of names, and there is an interesting coincidence of names in Rutherford County TN around 1820. There are hints in other Southampton County families, but not as clear. My guess is that there was a lot more interracial common-law and even legal marriage in the border areas than we now think. Where are your ancestors from?
