William, according to Mr. Sam the parents of William Chevis b. 1812 was David Chevers and Elizabeth Perlee of N. Carolina

and the parents of David was Peter Chevers and Christina Chevers of Pennsylvania

However with research , I found the parents of William to be John Cheves and Marie Keisey

I do not have too much info on them , just that they were free people from the Carolinas. I will be continuing to find more info and I will let you know. It is so confusing they all have the same names. I followed the census and I know that William b. 1812 is listed with John and Marie Keisey. At the least, I am willing to bet that John and David were most likely brothers.
