I am a Meuillon/Villeré descendant. First of all, in order to understand the Meuillon's, you have to read about the 1811 German Coast slave uprising.

Cheval = Chevalier, which is a title. It was used in the 1860 census, Eloise Cheval, not the 1850. In the 1850 census, she used Heloise Guilhory. In the 1870 census, Heloise Meillon is living with my 4th great-grandfather, François (pere) Guillory.
