Apparently no one wanted to note the sex or race/color of *other free* in 1790..
The only way to get a clue about *other free* in 1790 is to go forward through the censuses looking for the same family..Something else might turn up in later censuses to let you know if the former *other free* were Black, Indian, Asian or whatever..
