Right, I realized I didn't word what I said very well, I apologize. And you are right as far as DNA goes. What I was getting at is those who argue that these families were never African American don't use DNA in their argument, in fact they really don't use anything in their argument or if they do, only that the families origins were Native American, yet they completely ignore the fact that many members of the Chavis family intermarried into families descended from freed slaves.
