The Moultry name and its various spellings might link your family to Pensacola. Mobile and Pensacola's free people of color frequently intermarried.

In addition, I found an obituary for Robert Moultry born March 16, 1920 to Thomas and Isabella Moultry in Minter, Alabama. Robert is African American since the Funeral Home is owned by Joe Morris and Son one of the leading black funeral homes.

I read your profile and noticed that your family comes from Wilcox County. Many residents of Pensacola can point to Wilcox as their ancestors' place of birth. I am not sure why there was such a large migration to Pensacola before the turn of the last century.
