Re: American Indian records-FPOC

Paul,
I copied this from the top of the web page, " Note by FOC: I probably have duplicated much of Pony's information, and may have mixed it in time. All such errors are mine alone, and do not reflect on the fascinating collection of records submitted by Pony. I will try to straighten this out as time permits. My primary interest was in getting this information on the web quickly."

It appears the person/site administrator who put the page together copied some of Pony Hills's stuff.

As for the Chavis being NA, well the Chavis in my family is part African American. So for me it is again an example of tri racial mixing at best. :) I know he claims a connection to the Cheraw Indians, but don't know how much information he has to back up the claim. The only information that I have is that his mom's folks were from SC. There maybe be some oral history that I don't know about, but he and his family live in VA.

I think the reason I kept the link was because my husband's Copelands married into the Weaver family from Hertford Co., NC. So they also connect to the Nickens and Collins, etc.

Linda
