Re: REDMANs in from VA in Fayette County PA
In Response To: Re: REDMANs in from VA in Fayette County PA ()
Linda, Good to hear from you again. Here is what I know. James Redman (~1813) is as far back as I have gone. James Redman and wife Ann moved from VA (don't know where) to German Twnshp, Fayette County PA sometime in 1847/48 (based on Census). By 1870 they were in Jefferson. 3 of James Redman's children married 3 of Gilbert Simpson's children 1) Samuel Simpson and Sarah E. Redman (my Gggrandparents) 2)Thomas J Simpson and Elizabeth Redman 3) Martha Simpson and John A. Redman Sr (ancestors of Alan Silvia) As far as i know the Redmans remained in Fayette County. When my mom was growing up in Belle Vernon I think they were in Brownsville. James and Ann Redman are as far back I have gone and I don't know where in VA (or W VA ) they are from. I did get an email from Jane Ailes (Henry Gates' researcher) and she was not able to help narrow down my James Redman as there were several with that name. Alan Silvia and I descend from the same James Redman and he has been researching them for several years and is a male descendant of this line and may have more information. I have been primarily focusing on the Simpson line. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any other questions Brad
