I don't know much about William W. Sampson except for what I have read. I have been tracking him because he and my great-grandfather were living in the same area of Florida and both were from North Carolina. Both also were involved in the AME church and in voter registration activities. I had a theory that they might be related. As a matter of fact, I am considering ordering Rev. Sampson's death certificate, which should be in Jacksonville (he died there from Yellow Fever). Did you realize that his middle initial stands for Waddell? That is the same middle name of Charles Chesnutt.
