The second book you mention had a photo of William W. Sampson.

Again, I am trying to verify a note written by my great-grandmother, Carrie Williams Clifford, that William Sampson was a brother of Ann Maria Sampson, mother of Charles W. Chesnutt.

Note seems to refer to Chloe Sampson as "Aunt Cort".

Trying to find "Lizzie S. Ricks" and "Hattie Walker", supposedly daughter and granddaughter of William Sampson.
