Thanks so much for your reply. I have no name for parents but found a notice (no source was provided) that indicated he had a brother named William. Jacob was (born-ca. 1774- died- 1856) in the 1790 Census as a household of -1-. In 1800 a J. Proctor( poss. Jacob) was listed in District 1, Montgomery County, MD with a household of -3-. In 1810, listed with Prince George County, Md with household of -12-. 1820 he was listed in Washington County, PA. household of -15-.
He is listed in 1830 1nd 1850 Census in same general area.
He is listed as a farmer in the census. He left over $3000 in his Will probated 15 Apr 1856 to his family, in addition, to property. Curiously, he was listed as, General Jacob Proctor in the 1850 Census. I have not been able to locate any military record for him, so the "General" title is a bit confusing to me. He was the father of at least 12 and was married to Elizabeth ( ) Proctor.
I wish I had more info. to give you.
