Trying to figure out the Burrell Perkins' mother's name on this marriage application to Elizabeth Bass around 1900. While not technically before the Civil War, Burrell Perkins was a free person born in eastern TN around 1813 and Elizabeth Bass was a free person born in Indiana around 1823. They were both very old at the time of the marriage. The only time I found Stephen Perkins was in the 1830 Campbell, TN census.
