Thank you for your response. I am not sure when they were in Va or Mass. My mother said that the Sauls family started with 3 brothers that came from Canada, one settled in Boston, Mass, one settled in VA and the last in Wilson, NC. She also told me that they were not slaves, but well-to -do blacks that owned slaves. I am trying to find out as much as I can without paying for death certificates or making a trip to Raleigh. I am trying to contact other family members for more information on the Mass and Va brothers.
My Grandfater Eddie B or Eddy B Sauls was born in Eureka NC. I think his father's name was Andrew and wife was Ada. If you need more I can contact my family and try to get some more details from them.
