I met one of Bishop Lomax's female descendants. I also had a general interest in the Lomax family for many years because my ancestors were their neighbors.

I descend from the Sampson and Williams families and have studied the larger free black community in an effort to understand my ancestors' lives.

Enoch stands out to me primarily because his name was unique and because he was mentioned in his father's pension file. I have easy access to secondary sources, but not the primary ones that would have provided additional info on his siblings.
