There were 3 brothers, Enoch, William, and John. I am from John's line. I, too, have talked with, and emailed those from Enoch's line. I have not been lucky with William's , (the son),line. I think that Enoch's line was easier to trace due to the successfulness of Bishop Lomax, of the AME Zion Church in the 1800's and early 1900's.

Sometimes I think the female line, (and this is in general and a thought that I have been carrying), is discounted or overlooked because they usually didn't carry the family's name, however, if we say that most of our Free Persons of Color were free because their Mother's were free, then the female line is a very important part of who we are.
