My Daniel was free, and mixedblood...and his sons, at least Hendrick, Holly and Benjamin, were owned by Daniel, tho they lived as free...No record of their emancipation..Hendrick later had a daughter named Harriet who he owned and when she was older, he *sold* her to someone on condition she be freed in 5 years..but he died before the 5 years was up, and so did the person who bought her...So she was freed early...Still trying to find her descendants too...
My Arnolds were in VA and Kentucky before they were in MS, if my onfo is right...
