Hi. If it is Westmoreland County that your Reeds were in, I have the following:
The Register of Free Negroes at the Library of Virginia: page 2, Simon Reed a dark Mulatto five feet ten inches high about twenty years old...son of Letty Reed who was emancipated... (I did not copy the remainder).
In 1813 the tax list has:
Letty Reede FN

Note that the tax lists usually only list men over 16, but most commissioners mistook the instructions for 1813 to mean they were supposed to list free women of color also. So they are a great resource.

Also note that Registers of Free Negroes usually only include a small percentage of those in the county, but the tax lists include all men of color in the county and sometimes the women as well.

I am in the process of putting all the tax lists for Virginia on my site. I think I'm about half way through.
